Matty Healy’s Fiancée Gabbriette Bechtel Hints at Future Family Plans After Engagement

Gabbriette Bechtel is ready to settle down with Matty Healy.
Less than a month the 26-year-old revealed her engagement to The 1975 frontman, 32, Gabbriette is sharing her hopes for their future together.
“When I have kids,” she told British Vogue in an interview published July 16, “it’s going to be dinner every night—no phones—to celebrate the smaller things and recognize people’s happiness.”
But in the meantime, Gabbriette is enjoying the here and now.
“I love being in love,” she continued. “When I thought that I was in love before it was just me being a person of service to somebody else.”
And in sharing advice on finding one’s forever partner, the model also shared some insight into the early days of her and Matty’s relationship—and what her loved ones think of him.
“Answer all your DMs and listen to your closest friends,” she joked. “When they like somebody, you should listen to them.”
Matty and Gabbriette shared the news of their engagement on June 12—nine months after going public with their relationship—while at the concert of mutual friend Charli XCX, who is engaged to Matty’s bandmate George Daniel.
Referencing Charli’s newest album, Gabbriette shared a picture of her black diamond engagement ring to her Instagram Story alongside the caption, “MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT."
And in addition to Matty posting the announcement to his own Story, his mother Denise Welch shared insight into their engagement timeline.
"I have known for a few weeks that Matty got engaged," she explained on her show Loose Women that same day. "They went over to see their friends Charli and George in New York, I woke up this morning to the fact that they've put it on Instagram! Instagram official!"
Denise also provided details into the gorgeous ring her son gave to Gabbriette, which features a halo of diamonds around a large black gem.
"Black diamond," she explained. "He had it made for her, and I couldn't be more thrilled. She's absolutely gorgeous. We couldn't be happier—she's everything that I would want in a daughter-in-law, so I'm thrilled."

The Dance Moms alum said yes when the account manager popped the question with a 3.25-carat elongated cushion cut diamond ring from Brilliant Earth.
"Learned that he's almost as tall as me on one knee," Brooke joked of the proposal on Instagram May 6. "Here's to today, tomorrow, & forever after that."
The Below Deck Mediterranean star's boyfriend popped the question in May after four years of dating.
The Cincinnati Bengals player proposed to his girlfriend of two years, TikToker Tianna Robillard, in April 2024 candlelit affair. As he wrote on Instagram, "Best night of my life."
The "Pursuit of Happiness" rapper announced his engagement to the menswear designer on social media after making their red carpet debut at the London Knuckles premiere.
This amazing woman makes me so happy, she is everything to me and im so excited to share this news w u all," the rapper, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, wrote on Instagram April 17. "Life is wild, and right when I felt my future was uncertain, it became crystal clear with Lola. Happy Cud in full effect."
The Bachelor in Paradise couple got engaged during a trip to Bali.
Posting pictures of himself getting down on one knee surrounded by flowers, candles and a waterfront view, Chris wrote on Instagram March 24, "My dream girl said yes to forever."
The Jersey Shore star said yes to forever with justin in March, calling it, "The easiest question I've ever answered."
The Gossip Girl alum got down on one knee during the couple's ski trip to Switzerland.
