Christina Hall is creating a new blueprint for her life.
Because after less than three years of marriage, the Flip or Flop alum and her husband Josh Hall are divorcing.
But just days before their split, Christina—who shares kids Taylor, 13, and Brayden, 8, with her first husband Tarek El Moussa as well as son Hudson, 4, with her second spouse Ant Anstead—shared what makes her relationship with Josh work.
While she said she didn’t “know if there’s a secret” to their romance, the Christina on the Coast host ultimately pointed to being communicative.
“Just trying to keep communication open,” she explained while speaking with E! News July 2, “and then just having the alone time when we can—whether it’s date night, going on little trips, just things like that.”
And Christina suggested her past year was a positive one.
“It's been really good,” the HGTV star shared. “I just love where I live, I love my family and I love doing these shows. So, I feel like everything's going really well.”
As for what she said she hoped to build in the year ahead?
“I just want peace,” the 41-year-old, who celebrated her birthday July 9, noted. “I need things to be more peaceful and calm and just want to be more present and, overall, less chaos, less drama.”
Needless to say, the year hasn’t gotten off to the most tranquil start. On July 15, Josh filed for divorce from Christina, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. While the real estate agent listed their date of separation as July 8, the Christina in the Country celeb provided a different date of July 7 in her own filing.
According to his documents, Josh is seeking spousal support and asking to terminate the court’s ability to award support to Christina. Meanwhile, her paperwork states she is not seeking spousal support and is requesting to end the court’s ability to award support to either of them. Christina also expressed her desire to have her last name restored to Haack.
What’s more, the documents revealed the pair tied the knot in October 2021—six months before fans learned of their union.

Sparks flew while Christina and Josh started spending time together. The couple recreated their March 2021 date a year later.
While on vacation for Christina's birthday, the two posed for a photo on the beach and made their relationship Instagram official.
Months in, Christina had a message for any haters, noting she'll "turn off comments with Josh and will continue to do so if people are rude." As she later put it, "Do what you love with the ones you love. For me, that's Josh, my kids and a few close friends and co-workers."
Engaged! One day after celebrating Josh's birthday, Christina confirmed the duo's romance was anything but a flop.
The pair celebrated the spooktacular season with a visit to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights.
Just a few months later, they marked their first Christmas together.
"Building life together and enjoying some alone time," she captioned this sweet pic. "Love you Josh."
The following month, Christina enjoyed the "Best Valentine's weekend with my Valentine."
"Prayed for a man who was all man but still treated me like his queen," Christina wrote on Instagram just a few days before news of her and Josh's marriage broke. "Never give up."
In April 2022, fans learned that Christina and Josh privately tied the knot. They then celebrated their union with a wedding in Hawaii that September.
"Shared vows in front of family and our close friends," Christina wrote on Instagram Sept. 4. "Everything in life has led me to where I am right now, which is exactly where I want to be. My dream man on the dreamiest island. Maui holds a special place in my heart. What an amazing night filled with love."
It would later be revealed that the two actually wed in October 2021.
The real estate agent celebrated the HGTV star's birthday with a sweet tribute.
"Happy 40th Birthday to my absolute stunner of a wife!" he wrote on Instagram. "This woman has accomplished so much, inspired so many and continues to impress me daily. I can’t say enough about what an absolute force she is and what she is capable of. Christina is about to make her 40’s the best decade of her life and looking better than ever while doing it!I’m a lucky man and thank my lucky stars that she chose me to take this ride with her that is now our life. Ride or die baby, love you more than anything."
"Still going strong…" Josh wrote on Instagram alongside photos over the pair from over the past three years. "03/2024⏪️03/2023⏪️03/2022⏪️03/2021."
In July 2024, Josh filed for divorce from Christina, citing "irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split and her listing the same in her own court documents.
