Halsey exclusively told E! News correspondent Will Marfuggi on the red carpet Sept. 11, "I hope so."
And the "Lucky" singer—who shares 3-year-old son Ender with ex Alev Aydin—even provided insight into why she's looking forward to saying "I do" with the Victorious alum, who she confirmed her romance with in October 2023.
"Avan is the best," Halsey continued. "He's one of the greatest things that ever happened to me. And every single day that I get to spend with him is one where I just feel like I'm with my best friend."
And she's not the only one in her family who has developed a strong bond with Avan. Noting that her son also views him as a best friend, Halsey added, "They're inseparable." (For more from Halsey, tune into E! News tonight, Sept. 11, at 11 p.m.)
Halsey—who stepped out in a vintage Versace dress for this year's VMAs that was previously worn by Elizabeth Hurley in 1996—first sparked engagement rumors with Avan back in July, when the "Without Me" singer was seen rocking a new ring with a gold band during a romantic picnic with the actor.
And while Halsey—who is on the lineup to perform at the annual awards ceremony along with Sabrina Carpenter, Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabelloand host Megan Thee Stallion—didn't address the speculation at the time, she previously got candid about why she's found her perfect match in Avan.
As she put it during an August appearance on the She MD podcast, "We're the right fit."
"He has the ability to really show up in a way that has given me so much healing, and has made me be able to accept myself, and allow me to say when I don't feel well, or when I don't want to do something," she added. "I am grateful every day that it was him."
